3-Hour First Aid at Sea for Sick Crew

Weifang Sime Darby Port received an emergency rescue call from the pilot of the customer Shandong Aoda Logistics Co., Ltd. on 14 Oct that a sailor on board of its ship “Shunqixin” suffered a sudden and serious abdominal pain and the pilot requested an urgent berthing at the port. Upon receiving the emergency call, the port immediately made a series of deployment arrangements – changed the berthing plan, adjusted the order of ships entering the port, and communicated with the traffic control center to open a fast entry channel for the "Shunqixin" ship to sail into the port. At 12:00 noon, the ship "Shunqixin" sailed into the channel smoothly and began to enter the port; At the same time, the port notified the gate and operation area to open a green channel for the 120 ambulance; At 2:15 pm, the ship "Shunqixin" berthed safely at the port, and the 120 ambulance immediately sent the sick sailor to the hospital for treatment. The hospital diagnosed the sailor's disease as acute pancreatitis. Fortunately, as he was sent for treatment in time, there was no serious problem after treatment.

On October 29th, 2021, Shandong Aoda Logistics Co., Ltd. and the ship "Shunqixin" specially ordered two silk appreciation banners and delivered to the port to thank Weifang Sime Darby Port for its assistance, and praised Weifang Sime Darby Port for its efficiency and quick response to rescue a life.
